The Crisis Preparedness Checklist and Dynamic Map

The Crisis Preparedness Checklist and Dynamic Map provide questions allowing each checklist user to ask these questions in their project and consider the best ways to implement them in their context. The Checklist and Dynamic Map include possible crisis scenarios and responses that could minimise the crisis's impact on the built environment. Scenario thinking can be used to identify effective solutions to potential future challenges. The dynamic map also includes example solutions and case studies.

Varautumisen mestarit -perhetapahtuma

Saturday, March 26, 2022

This year RESCUE was collaborating as a partner in Varautumisen mestarit - perhetapahtumat (champions of safety - family event) organised by Heureka.

We believe that Children need to be educated about possible crises. This is a prerequisite for futures literacy. To achieve this, our researchers disseminated their findings through different activities, including a crises game! We took literally hundreds of children (and parents) through a game where a disaster gets analyzed and then dropped into the 'CRISES MACHINE' - which teaches us that all crises are interconnected and will affect society at large.

We also had a stand in the exhibition, where our researchers were present to discuss their results which are very relevant to the ongoing crises in the world. In addition, Professor Emerita Sirkka Heinonen (WP5 leader) was giving a speech. The topic of her speech is “ Tulevaisuus NYT! – kuinka voimaistua tulevaisuusajattelun avulla?” (The Future NOW! - how to empower yourself with future thinking?).
